Kamay Bay Visitor Centre

Geothermal Industries was proud to serve as the dedicated geothermal drilling contractor for the Kamay Bay Visitor Centre project, a landmark development that seamlessly integrates renewable energy into a heritage-rich coastal setting. Our scope of work focused on delivering a high-capacity closed-loop geothermal system to support the centre’s heating and cooling needs. To achieve this, we successfully drilled and installed 16 individual geothermal probes, each to a precise depth of 120 metres. The project demanded exceptional accuracy and care, given the site’s proximity to sensitive environmental zones and archaeological constraints, and our team’s expertise ensured every borehole was positioned and completed without incident.

For this installation, Geothermal Industries utilized our advanced Muovitech Turbo pipe as the geothermal probe material. The Muovitech Turbo pipe’s enhanced thermal transfer characteristics and robust structural integrity were ideal for the demanding ground conditions encountered at Kamay Bay. Its improved pressure ratings and smooth internal bore allowed for efficient fluid circulation, maximizing heat exchange performance over the full 120-metre depth of each probe. The use of this premium pipe system directly contributed to the long-term reliability and efficiency of the geothermal field, ensuring the visitor centre will operate sustainably for decades with minimal maintenance.
